Welcome to Medallion Estates/Lake Holden Grove

Small Enclave Neighborhood

The community was designed to be an upscale community using the most cutting-edge modern features of the time.

Medallion Estates is a small enclave neighborhood on the outskirts of the booming SODO district and 3.5 miles from downtown Orlando. It was established in 1960, consisting of 312 single family homes and some duplexes with approximately 20 homes that wrap around the east side of Lake Holden that also include the Lake Holden Grove community.

Three different developers were responsible for building Medallion Estates: Wade Development Corporation, Inc., George Nader Construction, and Lee Cohn. The community was designed to be an upscale community using the most cutting-edge modern features of the time. Basic home designs included Early American; Colonial; Rustic American; Alabama Colonial; Contemporary; and Contemporary Modern. During the inception of the community, prices started around $18,500 when most homes at the time cost half that amount.

Lake Holden was the first completely electric community in Central Florida approved by the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) under its new “Medallion” system. All of the streets were named after military generals of that era and it was also the first neighborhood in Central Florida to have sidewalks.

Our team member Jeremy Conner lived here for over 3 years. The sale of his home on 202 Benton was one of the highest price-per-square-foot sales in the area over time.
